Overcoming a Non-Festive Workplace

So...I wasnt even going to blog about my look today because I wish I had provided these tips before the day of Halloween! Sorry yall! However, I've received many questions and comments such as "why didnt I think to wear something like that?"

Like me, many of you work in environments that do not allow costumes. Then, there are some of you with jobs that do allow it but you just don't have the desire to wear one and that's ok! Be unapologetically you!

To those of you who are festive like me, I've said this before and I'll say it again...Do not let your circumstances compromise your swag! Just because they said no costumes doesn't mean I can't find other ways to be festive! Or, just because you chose not to wear a costume, doesn't mean you can't wear certain colors to represent the holiday! So, if you are one of those people flourish in all of the possibilities of your creativity!

As we enter into this holiday season, I am encouraging you to think outside the box and get festive! Sometimes all it takes is a few accessories! For example, Thanksgiving is approaching. Wear all black with some fall colored accessories (i.e. bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc.) For Christmas, wear an "ugly" Christmas sweater with a skirt or dress pants. Or wear a holiday graphic Tee with a blazer and jeans. Another idea is to just simply wear holiday colors. You can make it happen and still be in dress code! #HappyHolidays 🎃👻🦃
