It's Been a While but I'm Back
Hey y'all! It's been a while but guess what! I'm so glad to be back! ππ½π
To say I've been extremely busy is an understatement. By now, most of you know what I've been up to but for those that have wondered what happened to my weekly blogs, let me catch you up!
I launched not one but two businesses last year! Yep TWO! For starters, my apparel line started in June with the Human and Don't Assume t-shirts. BTW...these are still available for purchase. Just click the pic or the links above! π
Although they were very successful, I was still able to maintain the blog and the sales at the same time. My second release was the Good Trouble hoodies which have been selling like Jordans on release day! π
They are available in so many colors! Click my pic below to view and shop.
As if the apparel wasn't keeping me busy enough, I woke up in the middle of the night with an idea for Black Santa wrapping paper and within 5 minutes I had a name for the company. We call it Wrapper's Delight! Get it? "Wrapper's Delight" LOL...if you don't get it, ask somebody! π€¦π½ββοΈπ I even purchased the domain for my website all within 10 minutes of the idea. I had no clue how or if I was going to even be able to pull this off but I did!
With the way this idea and those of the apparel line came to me, I truly feel as though God is using me to be a beacon of light for my culture. We as a people have struggled for years, but 2020 hit the world differently when it came to representation and the disregard for black lives. Even we as a people came to a realization that we have to do a better job of supporting black businesses. Speaking of which...go ahead and get your jumpstart on next Christmas by purchasing your Wrapper's Delight today! π Click the pic!
As the holidays drew near, your girl became swamped! π© Between managing the businesses, working my full time job, parenting, homeschooling and being a wife, I barely found time to breathe. My days would start at 7am but my nights wouldn't end until 3:30am at the latest. Yea...that was my cut off time. π€¦π½ββοΈ Whew lawd!
Nevertheless, it all paid off! We even made the news on two different networks which got played on multiple news stations throughout the country. Check us out below on Fox and NBC!
FOX News - Local Family Creates Black Santa Wrapping Paper
NBC News - Couple Creates Black Santa Products
As crazy as it may sound, I felt fueled through it all. I had a fire inside me that just wouldn't burn out. That's how I knew and still know that I'm doing what I've been put on this earth to do. My plan this year is to do a better job at balancing life. The main goal is to make sure I'm taking care of me. I am reminded that success doesn't come easy and hard GRIND pays off. Notice that I replaced the word "work" with "GRIND" because as the saying goes, when you do what you love, it doesn't feel like work. You just want to keep going and going and going.
Well y'all, I'm glad I was able to drop in to say Hello! My plan is to visit your email boxes on a more regular basis now however, just know, I may miss a week or two every now and then but I will always return! Until next time, be blessed, happy and loved!
Sincerely,
Brooke Deron
