Red in the Workplace...Yay or Nay?

Updated: Oct 9, 2019

I think we can all agree that red is a POWERFUL color! The way you choose to rock it determines how you will be perceived when wearing it! It's an attention grabber! So, regardless of how you wear it, whether it be on your lips or on your feet, dress yourself for the attention you desire to receive.

As for me, I absolutely HATE being the center of attention but my love for colors in fashion broaden my creativity for ways in which I can incorporate my adoration for every hue of the spectrum regardless of where I choose to go.

As for work, as women, we must be careful. Leave that fiery red dress that hugs your curves in all the right places, hanging in your closet! The office is not the time nor the place for it! Red has a sexual attachment to it and if your job consists of a male dominated environment, that dress will likely attract the wrong attention. This is why, my recommendation would be to wear this color as an accent as I did in the picture below. It added just the right amount of flare without going overboard.

While red has some negative connotations, it also represents power and confidence. Studies also show that it helps you focus, feel energized and motivated to complete detail-oriented tasks. So, the next time you're sifting through your wardrobe, don't automatically make your reds feel neglected. Show the hue some love but PA-LEEEZE wear it wisely!
